Coffee Cow

A few summers ago as we were relaxing at a Swedish “beach,” a man came around wearing a white backpack with black spots and a hose attached.  He was “THE COFFEE COW.”  His special backpack was full of coffee and he would fill you up right there on the beach for a low price.  My husband thought this was the most genius idea he had ever seen.

However, you have to understand that:

1. Swedes are crazy about coffee.

2. For some reason, coffee at the “beach” just works here.

The reason this is on my mind is because I saw a girl yesterday morning doing the same thing at the subway station.  Now THAT’s a genius idea!  In my opinion, it fits better than at the beach.

Coffee Cow wouldn’t go over well on Gulf Coast beaches where I come from.

But a Margarita Cow?  Now you’re talking.

Collection ATM

I saw this last month at a church.  It’s a ”Collect-o-mat.”  So if you don’t have any bills or coins for collection, they take cards! Modern church.

Taco Bell – expensive eatin’

I’ve been having to do some food research lately for work and I came across this article on Business Insider about Taco Bell’s new “Low-end menu.”

“Taco Bell’s new “low end” menu release.

Taco Bell released a menu featuring a bunch of items for $1. At a time when McDonald’s and Wendy’s value menus are featuring more expensive items, affordability will help Taco Bell stand out. ”

So, Taco Bell was previously too expensive? Yeah, that 99 cent burrito I was getting was putting me in the poor house.

C’mon people!  Taco Bell barely qualifies as food.  It doesn’t need to be more affordable.  It needs to have a complete overhaul or possibly be shut down for being hazardous to human heath!

Starting a company is better with a lot of money – who knew?!

I’m starting my own company to translate documents from Swedish to English.  (send me your business — now that’s enough for the commercial).  So I went down to my favorite place – the unemployment office – to discuss programs about getting support during the start-up phase.  The response from the woman I talked to:

“Well, it would be easier to just get a job and start your company on the side.”

Wow!  Get a job?!  What a unique idea!  I’ll just go do that real quick.  What on earth have I been doing for the past 6 months anyway?  I should have thought about this whole “get a job” thing!

Thanks again unemployment office.  Your logic fails my goals, but at least it gives me lots of good writing material.
