So….. he’s an average American.
This came up on my ads today.
1. I don’t want this blanket, but I really want a pizza now.
2. Isn’t it odd that these girls in a white bedroom are just reading a book like normal people under their blanket. I think if someone had a pizza blanket, they’d probably just be rolling around all over the floor laughing hysterically.
On the podcast about expats in Sweden today, we talk to a couple of Italians, mainly about food of course, but also about language and some great summer tips in Stockholm!

I waved my kids off at the airport this morning and went immediately to both KFC and Pizza Hut, as they were in the area. Of course, I had to grocery shop first because these crazy Swedes don’t eat fried chicken at 9am in the morning. (Just wait until they discover fried chicken and waffles.)
I just ate a small snack at KFC to try it out (first one in Stockholm) and I put the pizza box on the passenger seat and turned the seat warmer to HIGH! It worked great!
As I rarely eat fast food these days, I of course fell into a fast food coma for the afternoon. But I’m awake again and ready to tackle the leftover slices in the fridge tomorrow!
My latest podcast episode about living in Sweden is up – A discussion of weddings in Sweden, strange toppings on Swedish pizza and why setting a 43-foot tall straw goat on fire has become a yearly tradition.

I like to wear jewelry, but I also like to be practical. Fortunately, I found the perfect necklace!
We’ve been in Italy the past week, offline and relaxing.
People ask me, “Why are you always going to Italy?”
I think you can see here just why Italy is so great:
So Delta airlines had pizza delivered to waiting passengers on a plane during the recent delays caused by their computer system. My thoughts:
- Can we please just do this every time instead of airline food? I will pay extra.
- Do the delivery guys get tips in airline tickets?
- And still, Pizza Hut won’t deliver to my neighborhood.
… but they still don’t deliver to our house.
In Stockholm, many businesses can be found in one building. While looking for directions to a doctor’s appointment, I noticed that the address was listed as a place called “Pizza Hatt.”
First, I will state the obvious, in that the owners are hoping a few people will be confused between the words Hut and Hatt and will just give up and eat there once they arrive.
Second, I was very disappointed I was not offered pizza at my doctor’s appointment.
And finally, a friend of mine sent me this picture as she was convinced the place must sell actual Pizza Hats.
I’m going to eat a hamburger today from a place called “The Burger Boat” even though it’s a barge. This bothers me. Burger Barge would have sounded just fine AND been accurate. I wouldn’t call a food truck a food CAR.
Sorry, I just need my restaurants to be correct. This is why I have trouble eating at Pizza HUT.
